WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Steve Southerland, II applauded U.S. Airways’ announcement today that the airline will launch daily, nonstop service between Tallahassee and Washington’s Reagan National Airport beginning March 25th.

“As a member of the House Subcommittee on Aviation, I recognize how important U.S. Airways’ announcement is for creating jobs, expanding tourism, and spurring economic development in Tallahassee and the Big Bend region,” Southerland said. “By linking Florida’s capital city with our nation’s capital city, local residents will also have a new gateway to their government, providing quick and convenient travel constituents to meet their representatives in Washington. I am pleased to have worked with Governor Scott, Mayor Marks, and the other state and local officials who helped make this day a reality.”

U.S. Airways’ wholly-owned subsidiary, PSA Airlines, will operate service to Tallahassee on 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ200) aircraft.
