SOUTHERLAND VOTES TO CUT, CAP, AND BALANCE WASHINGTON’S BUDGET
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Steve Southerland, II issued the following statement tonight regarding House passage of the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011:
“Ninety-three days ago, I announced my support for a forward-thinking, common sense plan of cuts and caps to conquer our crippling national debt. I am pleased that my House Republican colleagues have joined me in committing to this effort by overwhelmingly approving the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011. Hardworking families and small businesses across America have become all too familiar with the daily challenge of doing more with less, and tonight they can take comfort in the fact that the People’s House voted to do the same. Now that the House has passed a concrete, measureable solution to fix our fiscal future, the $14.3 trillion question remains, ‘Mr. President, where is your plan?’”
